Team Members

Ian grew up in Portland Oregon, played many sports growing up, and was a competitive fencer. He joined the team at Penn State University in 2003. He was an NCAA All-American in 2004 and in 2007 when Penn State won the NCAA National Championship. As a private coach in Chicago and Portland, he mentored youth fencers and coached at regional events, NACs, and international competitions. He has worked with many regional, national, and international medalists. Two athletes he has worked with qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games.

About Us

Matteo Gallo, Archil Lortkipanidze and Matthew Zich invite you to attend their 1st Annual Residential Sabre Camp.

 

Featuring the coaching staff from South Bay Fencing Academy, Scarsdale Fencing Center, Boston Fencing Club and invited coaches from around the world.

​

The camp takes place on the beautiful campus of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and will feature Olympians, Elite Coaches and both nationally and internationally ranked fencers.

In the event of an emergency, permission is granted for the administration of emergency first aid by the The Sabre Camp staff or Wheaton College staff and, in the case of a serious accident when the child’s parents are not available, permission is granted to arrange to take the child directly to an appropriate hospital.
